ATTENTION: Spamming Incident on April 15, 2009 not caused by World Travelers United

To our Dear Readers,

We apologize for any inconvenience that a sudden mass email spam incident may have caused. Apparently, someone unknown with bad intentions took advantage of the form on our “Tell a Friend” page and sent out an email to a large mailing list proposing a business opportunity with our name on it in the “From” field. Please be advised that this was not the work of World Travelers United and the information you received has nothing to do with our travel club. If you were one of the recipients of this email spam, you would have seen at the bottom of the email “From, sender’s name” (in this case, Ricky) and a link to our website www.worldtravelersunited.com.

We are taking the necessary steps to ensure that this does not happen again. Stay tuned for more updates and please contact us if you have any questions at info@worldtravelersunited.com. To see a copy of the email spam which you may have received, please view the image below.

Please note that the “From, sender’s name” and www.worldtravelersunited.com website information is only viewable to the recipient in their email account. The image below is a confirmation email that we simply receive when a club member refers our travel services to one of their friends via the “Tell a Friend” form so we can acknowledge their efforts.

Thank you for understanding and allowing us to clear up the email spam mess that occurred.

*Update 4/18/2009* We have installed CAPTCHA which is a progam that will protect our travel club’s website against bots and scripts by generating and grading tests that humans can pass but current computer programs cannot. In other words, this feature represents the “Security code” required field listed on our pages that contain forms. Thank you.
